13:A Equity Circle

Presenter(s): Various SRJC faculty, staff and students

A group of faculty, staff, students, and administrators formed an ad hoc committee in May of 2020 to plan a series of monthly round table discussions focused on equity-based practices that could best respond to the challenges presented by the global pandemic. Many of us met each other in ISSC or other social justice work in the district. We were heartened to see the timely professional development and webinars coming from USC, San Diego State University, and elsewhere in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic. We were inspired to begin a similar dialogue at Santa Rosa Junior College. We also wanted to connect to this moment when people are starting to see the world through different eyes and engaging with equity issues at a deeper level. June 23: Equity Circle: A Conversation about Racism and Antiblackness July 21: Equity Circle: Student Panel will discuss practices they found helpful towards successful remote learning.
